I never realized the importance of dog training until I adopted my Pika. The lesson and tools that were taught has given me more confidence in handling my Pika. This is money well spent and I'm looking forward to having my other fur babies trained by Jon and Ruthie.

Our boonie dog, Libby, considers the trainers, John and Ruthie, her second owners. She is a very stubborn dog but she caught on well with their training. Their boarding is great also, keeping you up to date with plenty of pictures. The best decision we have made concerning our fur-baby!

When we moved to Guam I was nervous taking our dog anywhere. He barked at people and never came when he was called. Walking on a leash was a workout. After some lessons with Jon and Ruthie he is a new dog. He is confident and not as nervous around strangers. We can take him down to the beach and he sits while people pet him and take his picture. He comes when we call him. Best of all, he is a happy dog. We are planning on taking a few more lessons to cement all the skills but there isn't much more I feel we need to work on. Micronesia Mutts has been a blessing.

We did our research and considered other training options. Micronesian Muttz was definitely the best fit for our family. Not only has Ruthie given us some great tools to build a strong foundation and relationship with our dog, she has taken the time to explain why the tools work, and how to adapt them to our needs. We were at our wit's end before we started our lessons, but now we're thinking about a second dog! Thank you Micronesian Muttz training for helping us and our dog with obedience training. The owners make it a fun and very informative session and it’s well worth the investment to have our dog respond to us when we ask. They offer more than just private sessions and often have group classes to former and current students that are free to attend! Five stars!!

They have worked with both our dogs and have helped us become better owners. Our GSD pulled at his leash and it came to the point I no longer could walk him. After working with Jon and Ruthie I am now able to walk my boy again. He still has room for improvement but has come a long way from being the huge GSD pulling at his leash. We couldn’t have done it without the help of these two! Our other pup is the polar opposite of our GSD, she never leaves my side when out in public. She’s learning to place and become more confident in the outside world. She does have more work to do but as always training never ends. Highly recommend Micronesian Muttz to anyone needing help training their dogs.

We rescued three boonie dogs without any good idea about dogs.
We had been overwhelmed until we met Jon and Ruthie. We tried other training schemes, but, they did not work so well.
At the their demonstration, they gave us hope. That was my eye-opening moment about dog training. I felt that we did not need to give up.
Our training has not finished. However, we are very happy to see the progress of our boys.
We had two choices: Board training or private lessons.
We had chosen their private lessons, because we knew that we needed to be good dog parents.
Although I was trying to practice (homework) as we learned at a lesson, our dogs did not react in such a good way. So, many times, I cried.
But with each lesson, Jon and Ruthie guided us in good directions with their warm heart.
It is still not perfect. However, I am happy to see our dogs can hold our command "SIT". This is a big step for us. Whenever our three dogs sit in front of me, watch me and wait for me, I am very proud of that moment and very thankful to Jon and Ruthie.
Whenever we have some difficulties or problems or questions, they are always happy to help us and give us good advice. I feel they are always with us. It give me much comfort training our dogs and being good dog parents.
I had cried many nights. I know that we still need to strengthen our positive relationship with our dogs much more.
But, I feel hope, because Jon and Ruthie are there.

We began lessons a few weeks ago and have already noticed improvement in our puppy, Lottie, and many more improvements in the way that we train her. The information Jon and Ruthie have provided us has increased our confidence in training her in and outside the home. They have also helped us understand what kind of expectations to have for Lottie, so that we don't get discouraged. We have really enjoyed our experience with them. Help!!! My dog needs John & Ruth. Took Bunky everywhere and all I could think of was John & Ruth. So we met up yesterday at the park and after John & Ruth handled my dog for a few minutes, it looked like Bunky was theirs instead of mine. That's how good they are at what they do! "Train me", I said. Desperate for my dog to have a good behavior, I knew I was in good hands. Their direction for both my dog and I were clear and kind, compassionate, and professional. They have done a wonderful job with our Boonie pup, Dexter. My husband and I seeked them out since Dexter had never gotten over his fear of people. He was unmanageable around others and we had tried everything.
Ruthie was able to show us how to properly work with Dexter’s fears. She showed us techniques to build his confidence. She built ours as well when handling him in public or having company over.
I’m sad to hear they are leaving Guam. They have done great work on this Island.

We have learned so much from our dog training sessions with Ruthie and Jon! They are so knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about dogs. We were struggling with our rescue dog Hercules when we reached out for training. Ruthie has helped us so much with obedience, building routines, learning skills, and just having a better understanding of how dogs think and how we can use that teach them. She is great at tailoring lessons to your specific needs and is very patient with clients both canine and human. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with Micronesian Muttz and will miss them when they leave Guam!

I will be forever grateful for the 1:1 training Ruthie Hartley did with my two rescue boonies. Yin and Yang over a year ago. She provided invaluable tips and guidance which helped build a stable foundation for training the 3 of us. I especially appreciated Ruthie's flexibility with adapting various strategies to meet the needs of our indoor and outdoor home environment. Been very pleased with attaining objectives towards long term goals, such as being able to walk them with more confidence and control; creating some effective temporary boundaries within home environment, minimizing separation anxiety, desensitizing them little by little with overcoming so of their fears, etc.
